Supporting Staff through the Pandemic
Join Susan R. Perry, PhD, MSW, LCSW, who will talk about how best to support staff and faculty moving forward, given where we are in the pandemic and as we look beyond it. Susan brings great energy and deep leadership experience at independent schools (Governor’s Academy, Phillips Academy, Asheville School, Ravenscroft School) and in higher ed (Duke University, Smith College). She will specifically address these questions: How do we best support our faculty now? What lies ahead for us in the coming weeks and months as we start to see light at the end of the tunnel? How might our support need to change and what steps can we take to be ready?

Free and open to all educators.

A Third Way: Creating a Sustainable Student-Led Science Research Program
Join us for a discussion with Luke De, Science Teacher and Program Developer of The Nueva School’s Science Research Program. Hear about the details of the program itself, which can serve as a new model for science instruction that focuses on increased engagement and authentic student-led experiments in the discipline. While the discussion centers on science, it also speaks to the broader development of a signature program across any department at a school and the value it can serve for a school as a differentiating factor.

Free and open to all educators.
Communities of Practice
Please join our Communities of Practice, where educators gather to address a particular topic area or challenge.

Monthly; Second Meeting Tuesday, March 2, 2021, 4 PM ET
Tech Tools for Teaching and Learning (TT4TL)
The Tech Tools for Teaching & Learning (TT4TL) Community of Practice is a group of Educators who come together to identify best practices for how technology-based tools can improve teaching and learning within their school’s classrooms, both in-person and virtually. Some educators have used technology as part of their teaching practice for years, whereas other educators had to quickly adopt new tools as a result of distance learning during COVID-19. Whatever the case, teachers and students can effectively use technology-based tools in the classroom, both in-person and virtual, to more effectively gather information, collaborate, communicate, present information, and assess student progress. This CoP will meet a minimum of three times - longer if members wish to continue.
