David Torcoletti

Program Director

A wise and compassionate mentor to legions of students and educators, David has spent his career thinking about and honing his craft in mentoring and supervision in the context of responsive systems. He began his school career at Northfield Mount Hermon School where he taught photography, lived in a residence hall, and coached. He went on to become a House Director, Campus Dean, and eventually, School Dean. While there, he was twice honored with the faculty residential life award. David then moved to Milton Academy, where he was a teacher and Dean of Students before moving on to lead the EXPLO Junior Program, a boarding and day program for grades 4–7. David has conducted audits and peer benchmarking for schools on student life systems and programs, as well as health and wellness services. He has been a coach for Deans of Students at a variety of schools and advised Heads of Schools, Division Heads, and Deans of Students on complicated student and faculty issues. He’s presented at numerous conferences with a particular focus on the challenges facing boys and how adults often fail them. He is a summa cum laude graduate of Ohio University and earned his M.F.A. at Bard College as a Milton Avery Scholar. David is also a nationally recognized fine arts photographer with numerous museum and gallery shows to his credit.
