The gigantic warehouse and studio at the Exploration Learning Center near Boston is what I imagine Willy Wonka’s warehouse and studio would be like.
In and amongst crates and boxes, bikes and folding tables, frisbees and board games you discover bright lights, scraps of orange paper, a laser cutter, 3D printers, scissors, strange paper light fixtures, and a cardboard moose or two. Another way of looking at the space is that it represents the inside of EXPLO Elevate’s brain, the inside of Dave Hamilton’s brain. Most importantly for this week, it now serves as the studio for Dave’s new feature, “Designs in 90 Seconds.”
The EXPLO Elevate space represents both the heart and mind of EXPLO Elevate, and it captures our thought leadership, our creativity, our willingness to experiment, and even more, our desire as thought leaders to impact how schools think about the demand and opportunity to create a better and better way forward in serving young people and the communities they will steward and pass on.
